Responsabilities

• Client and business development activities in conjunction with other Consultants senior staff
• Strong report writing skills
• Manage, perform) geotechnical engineering projects, in conjunction with other senior Consultants staff, from the proposal stage through the inspection, data analysis and reporting, and including any project follow-up work
• Manage and supervise junior staff (Project Specialists, Project Consultants) with detailed and appropriate direction
• Manage budgets and financial aspects of projects under this service sector
• Mentor and train junior staff (Project Specialists, Project Consultants) both in the field and in reporting and budgeting responsibilities
• Professionally interact, manage and coordinate projects with clients and contractors
• Review and administer contracts of building construction and repair projects
• Work closely with other Consultants staff and management, and fully participate in company meetings and other administrative duties
• Manage all necessary and related career development activities, including
• professional development activities required to maintain currency in the field
• Prepare reports with a detailed descriptions
• Ability to technically and comprehensively review detailed reports/documents for quality control

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering is a requirement (Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical Specialization or Geological Engineering)
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the Province of Ontario
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in other provinces is an asset
• A minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in the geotechnical consulting engineering field
• Sales/marketing experience is an assist
• Thorough knowledge and experience in geotechnical assessments and field investigations, construction observations and inspections, foundation design based upon geotechnical principles, infrastructure projects, excavation and slope stability analysis, settlements analysis, shear strength and consolidation analysis
• Experienced in foundations inspections and site problems
• Experience in environmental and hydro geotechnical engineering is an assist
• Ability to attain client required police and other agency security clearance checks (CPIC, VSS, Reliability)
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Knowledge of CAD is an assist
• Proficient in using geotechnical software for slope analysis, settlements, consolidations and shear analysis
• Must have the ability to work within a client oriented and fast-paced environment.
• Required skills include flexibility, adaptability, problem-solving ability, excellent computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task as well as the ability to meet tight timelines.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• You must also be able and willing to travel as part of this position

Compensation
