Property Accountant

Job ID: 175 | Located in GTA (ON), Toronto (ON) | Sector: Property - Management | Full-time

Responsabilities

• Analysis of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy through monthly account reconciliation process and utilization of working papers
• Produce monthly financial statements reporting package (balance sheet, income statement, variance analysis and other supporting schedules) in accordance with client's requirements
• Distribution of monthly financial statements package to stakeholders
• Review of resident trust bank account, reconciliation on a monthly basis with verification that it reconciles with the resident trust ledger
• Preparation of any statutory compliance & regulatory reporting (e.g. Annual Report, Cash Flow Projections, Rate Reductions, quarterly Filings, HST, etc.)
• Preparation of year-end audit working papers, draft statements and liaison with external auditors
• Integrating new property acquisitions as required (including due diligence work)

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education and CPA designation
• 3-5 years' experience in an accounting position (Retirement home experience preferred)
• Excellent understanding and knowledge on preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasting, cash management and year end reports
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS preferred
• YARDI Accounting software knowledge preferred
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to meet demanding deadlines
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities

Compensation

• 60k - 70k base salary (NEGOTIALBE)
