Project Manager : Building Science Engineering

• Develop restoration programs for structural and/or building envelope (e.g. parking garages, balconies, roofs, walls, windows and doors) and present viable rehabilitation scenarios for the client
• Prepare bid documents including specifications, scope of work, details and drawings
• Manage building science projects from conceptual design to final completion
• Prepare whole building property condition assessments for transactional due diligence following ASTM Standard Guide E 2018-08 and financial studies/life cycle costing for capital planning
• Prepare reserve fund studies and performance audits for condominiums
• Review reports, bid documents and guide authors in understanding edits and confirm edits have been made prior to submitting for senior review
• Coordinate with other environmental, engineering and architectural disciplines
• Perform contract administration/construction review while implementing work
• Prepare proposals and maintain project file documentation
• Provide ongoing mentoring program which focuses on skills development and employee engagement
• Continuing job/project specific feedback intended to encourage continuous improvement
• Manage competing demands while meeting commitments
Qualifications
• Professional registration/licence (or imminent) in Architecture, Engineering, Building Science or related field preferred
• Experience and knowledge of major building systems and building construction;
• 5 - 10 years of project management experience in the area of Building Science Engineering (i.e. Assessment, Design, Tendering, Construction Review/Contract Administration)
• Strategic, operational and technical management skills are an asset
• knowledge of major building systems and building construction
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• A team player with excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to work independently
• Ability to meet tight timelines
• Valid driver's license and be willing to travel as part of this position and a valid passport
Compensation
