Accounting Manager

Responsabilities

• Review the data in the monthly building financial statements to ensure accuracy, and currency with specific emphasis to ensuring variances are explained and deadlines are met
• Review the monthly cash positions
• Monitor changes in vacancies, rental arrears and report significant changes
• Review bank reconciliations specifically, reconciling items
• Coordinate and review annual budgets and submit for timely approval ensuring delivery to clients
• Coordinate and review annual working paper files and ensure all audits are booked and completed
• Attend meetings with clients to review reports, budgets, financial statements, etc. as needed and requested
• Coordinate the integration of new management contracts
• Supervision and development of property accounting staff including performance management, coaching and training.
• Charge monthly management fees and Maintain all required cash flow models
• Regularly review opportunities to improve and enhance accounting procedures
• Make appropriate recommendations for implementation of new procedures or technology
• Ensure optimal levels of client satisfaction and public relations in all forms of communications with owners, owners' representatives and auditors
• Review filing of HST returns and ensure submission deadlines are met

Qualifications

• 7-10 years' experience in a senior accounting position
• Residential Property Management experience preferred
• CGA or CMA preferred
• Yardi experience an asset
• Excellent relationship builder – able to liaise and collaborate with any internal or external stakeholder
• Detail oriented, deadline and priority driven
• Strong Microsoft Office orientation specifically advanced knowledge of Excel
• Excellent communication and people management skills – passionate about training and mentoring
• Ability to manage time effectively, a superb multi-tasker with excellent organization and prioritization skills
• Team player who is able to work in a fast paced environment and contribute to the team by transfer of knowledge to more junior team members
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
• Excellent attitude and willingness to learn and update skills and mentor team members

Compensation

• 75k - 85k base salary (based on experience)
